燃やせるという無意識

某誌の記事を書いた。ボサノヴァの代表曲を挙げ、MIDI化し、コードを表記し、シーケンスソフトのピアノロール画面をキャプチャーし、それがどういう体系に基づきどう機能しているか文章で解説する。それを10曲。分量も多いが、慣れない仕事で時間がかかった。担当編集者が間違いが多く困った。送ったものと違うコードや画像になっていたり、間違った日本語になっていたり。訂正しながら編集も進められ、前は正しかった部分に随時間違いが加わる。よって、訂正版が届く度全てを見直す必要がありさらに時間を取られた。こういう仕事はどういう風に進めたらいいのか、執筆仕事に不慣れな僕にはわからない。それが本題ではなくて、この修正作業中に面白いことに気付いた。前から薄々思っていたことだが、PC画面で見るのとプリントアウトして見るのでは間違いの見付けやすさが全然違う。画面に映っているものは魔法がかかっているようで、正しい前提のような面構えになってしまう。紙にしてようやく素に見える。この二つのメディアに横たわる溝は何なのか？言うまでもなく、直接書き込み、消し、付箋を付け、破り、貼り付け、丸め、捨て、拾え、なんなら燃やせるのが紙だ。 PC画面上でも編集は当然できるが、アプリ上からのフィルターを介した間接的なもので、ましてや物理的な作用は加えられない。この違いは、支配感に繋がっていると思う。自分が直にコントロールできていないものに間違いが含まれていてそれを訂正する、という意識は自然には持ちにくいのではないだろうか。そこで僕が不安に思ったのは、AmazonのKindle、フランスの出版社EditisのEbook、Appleが間もなく発売予定のタブレット等で読む時、本に比べてそこに書かれていることに客観性や批評性を持ちにくいのでは、ということだ。同じ内容でも、正しいことが書かれていると錯覚を起こすような、印象の違いを生じさせるような隔たりがあるはずだ。利便性やエコな観点から、利点はよくわかる。紙に愛情を持つことも、「たった」紀元前2000年のパピルスから続く習慣による幻想かもしれない。しかし、直接熱エネルギーを加えられるという無意識は大切な気がする。使わぬ前から、空虚だと言い切ることも易し。そこら辺を自覚し、新しい記憶媒体に接したいと思った。記事で取り上げた1曲「Por Causa de Você」を含むアルバム「Canta Para Você Dançar」。たった29歳で亡くなったDolores Duran。この曲は、まだ無名だったJobimが書いている。

my jogging course. the gradation of winter sunset is tremendously beautiful. sometimes i run with absorption and ranges of visibility and hearing are coming to narrow. that's not a bad feeling. and it alleviates a stiff neck. ジョギングコース。冬の夕焼けグラデーションは恐ろしく綺麗。走っているとたまに、視界も音域も狭まって自分だけの世界に入ったような感覚になる。これが気持ちいい。そして背中の凝りも解消。 bought for live to be a cheap role, at an auction site after a long interval. but it was broken. it mysteriously occurs when i don't have attachments for articles. luckily a seller returns money immediately. but i purchased an another instrument for i couldn't withdraw the heat. ライブのチープ担当用に、久々オークションで買ったら壊れていた。不思議に、愛情なく買うとこういうことは起こる。出品者がすぐ返金してくれてよかった。引っ込みがつかず、別の機材を買ってしまった。 at an accustomed restaurant. it might be wasteful because i had a cold. but it was to be the last to be there in this year. so.. 行きつけにて。風邪気味でちょっと勿体なかったけど、今年ラストかな、と奮発。

Little Nobody - "Nobody's Driving" (Toshiyuki Yasuda remix) One of IF?'s favourite, more cooly quirky Japanese artists (who's also worked with Señor Coconut) gets together with our label founder to rehash each other's tunes, namely Toshiyuki's 'Pink House' and Andrez's 'Nobody's Driving'. Yum. Just in time for Christmas – and the length of Tosiyuki’s remix even matches the catalogue number! (IF?) As the title suggests, this seventh in Japanese label IF?'s ongoing 'virtual' 12 inch series offers up a tie-in with the festive season, with label boss (and expat Melburnian) Little Nobody and Japanese producer Toshiyuki Yasuda (who's previously worked with Senor Coconut) doing a remix swap on each other's tracks. Little Nobody kicks things off with a reworking of Yasuda's 'Pink House' that sets the controls for stripped-back techno, with sparse snares and kickdrums gliding out over a curiously undulating backdrop of sub-bass murmurs, synthetic bleeps and vaguely ragga-centric keys. On the 'flip' meanwhile Yasuda offers up a reworking of Little Nobody's 'Nobody's Driving' that sends clattering, stutter-edited brass samples and hiphop breaks ricocheting all over the place ala Prefuse 73, all whilst coming in at just a shade over a minute in running length.
