音楽家・塚越寛之によるソロユニット。PsysExの糸魚健一にその才能を見いだされ、2003年に1st「paddle」をリリース。収録曲「SwNH」はTBSテレビ「THE世界遺産」BGMにも採用されるなど各方面から評価される。2005年に2nd『Light court』、2006年に3rd「Velvet tiny globe」をリリース。2008年からは「鳴響」「渋響」をはじめとする一連の各地温泉郷でのプロジェクトに参加し、電子音楽と地域とのさまざまなセッションを繰り広げ、その新たな可能性は2010年発売の最新作「Tender grain」に結実。常に緻密で繊細な音世界を展開するアーティストである一方、テレビ番組のBGMなどの放送用音楽制作も数多く手掛ける職人的作家でもある。

Firo:
A solo project by Hiroyuki Tsukakoshi.
By sampling sounds of his environment, combining it with live musical instruments and elements that are purely created on the laptop, Hiroyuki Tsukakoshi creates this precise and elevating music. Through the high influence of other computer-generated music styles of today, he feels that his body and his computer act as a filter that the gathered impressions pass through. His arranging, editing and concentrating of often conflicting and accidental noises form a harmony that we can then find familiar.
Hiroyuki Tsukakoshi is part of a collective of leading Japanese Ambient music artists featured on the Water Green compilation on the Ryoondo-tea label. His live performance at the party at the famous ancient Honen-in temple in Kyoto in August 2003 was unforgettable.
He appears on PROGRESSIVE FOrM's "FORMA"- features Masakatsu Takagi and Takamasa Aoki - and is part of Patchware on demand, with Ryoichi Kurokawa and Ken'ichi Itoi of PsysEx, who has been called the most important person of the Kyoto Electronica scene (Oct 2003, Remix magazine, Japan). He has been called the most important person of the Japanese Electronica scene.

It's been a year from "Light Court", Firo's 3rd album, elegant, soft touched, natural and rich. Firo says ---- "My music is like a tiny globe". He had created precise and beautiful tiny globes like sophisticated hard steel, and his next, new "globes" are more soft touched, ---- like a Velvet.
Including guitars and vocal samples of himself, Firo performs his rich and hi-fi sound in this wonderful new album. Not only electronica, this new album "Velvet tiny globe" has also rich flavors of Jazz, rock, and even soul music.

数々のアーティストと共演、比叡山延暦寺や知恩院にも飛び交った電子音。京都空間系電子音楽界の最重要人物・糸魚健一のサイセクス。 アルバムタイトルPolyrhythm_system Exclusive MessageはPsysExの正式名称でもある。曲名はすべてソフトウエア上のパッチのシリアル番号を代用。今回の"Polyrhythm_system Exclusive Massage"はpatchwareシリーズ、PsysEx活動の集大成。NYを代表する日本人エレクトロニカアーティストSo Takahashi（carpark）とスノーエフェクトの石川貴史（isi）によるリミックス収録。

The result is a very fragmented and "broken" sounding hybrid of minimalism and techno. Sharp rhythms and strange melodic hooks are constructed with tuned, but non-harmonic sounds.
Itoi, based in Kyoto, Japan, founded the experimental electronic label shrine.jp that fosters many young experimental artists in Kyoto. In addition to the creation of his stark form of techno, Itoi offers energetic live sets and organizes many events throughout Kyoto. In 2005 Feb.23, "Polyrhythm_system Exclusive Message iii" was released from daisyworld discs.

This is the first full-length album of Ken'ichi Itoi, who has often been credited as the most influential artist of the ambient scene in Kyoto, Japan. He became famous for his live sets at the Enryakuji temple as well as the Main Temple in Kyoto city. He also toured Japan with many techno artists such as Monolake and Raster Norton. Featuring remixes by Takashi Ishikawa (snoweffect) and So Takahashi (carpark).

Les Rendez-vous de Tokyo：
西麻布のフレンチレストラン『Les Rendez-vous de Tokyo』開店2周年を記念した音源。
タイトルは店名と同じ『Les Rendez-vous de Tokyo』。ひとことでいうと、恋をしたくなる（？）アルバムです。
お店のなまえは、エリック・ロメールの『パリのランデブー（Les Rendez-vous de Paris）』にちなみました。
“Rendez-vous”ということばは、「待ち合わせ」とか「デート」という意味のフランス語。
「別の軌道を持つ宇宙船同士が宇宙空間で接近すること」を表す宇宙航空用語でもあります。
カップルや友だちが集い、知らない同士が最接近するような場所になれればいいなと名付けました。
もちろんロメールの、あの恋愛コメディも大好き。
そんなお店のサウンドトラックです。
といっても、既存のおしゃれサウンドの詰め合わせではありません。
すべてuhitokiyosueさんによるオリジナル。
2月と3月の3日間、『Les Rendez-vous de Tokyo』でライブレコーディングされた12曲です。
ここに、映画のラブシーンに流れるような甘いメロディーはありません。ノイジーで抽象的な音の連なり。
そんな心を奪わない音楽だから、むしろ、目の前のお皿とワインとステキな誰かに目を向けられる――。
耳を澄ませば、お皿やグラスのカチャカチャという音。居合わせた人たちのざわめき。
お店でも流してます。でも、音楽が流れていることを意識させません。
逆に、部屋でひとりで聴くと、そこに人の営みを感じてしまいます。
“フレンチっぽいかわいさ”を期待されると困りますが、とても居心地のいいアルバムになりました。

シカゴ音楽院にてPatricia Moreheadに作曲を、バークリー音楽院にてCsoundで知られるRichard Boulangerに音響合成を学ぶ。
シカゴ、ニューヨーク、マイアミなどを拠点に活動。
ラップトップ・アーティストとしてTV PowやJason Solidayと共演するほか、レコーディング・エンジニアとしてBlack SheepやToday's My Spaceout Dayの録音/ミックスを手がける。
また「ポスト・ケージアン」を自称し、現代におけるプロセスとしての作曲を実践。ソフトウェア作品も多数。2003年より、Koutarou Fukuiとオンラインレーベル、on;(do)を運営。Jake ElliottやAram Sheltonなどの作品を意欲的にリリースを続ける。
抽象音楽のみならず、HIPHOPにも造詣が深く、Meswy、Mick Bolgardなどの海外アーティストのリミックスも多く手がけている。

“Les Rendez-vous de Tokyo”, a french restaurant in Nishi-Azabu, Tokyo, proudly announces a CD release in celebration of its second anniversary, titled as the same as the restaurant, “Les Rendes-Vous de Tokyo”. The music is not a compilation of smooth music, which is what you expect of a restaurant CD. Instead, the music is composed and compiled by uhitokiyosue from the live-recordings that were held in the restaurant. There are no melodies that you would hear in romantic movies, but series of soft, abstract sounds, which will not take away your mind from the food and wine.
“All you need is rendez-vous, i.e. I live my life always appreciating the encounters with people that I am blessed with. I used to be a high-school girl who would spend hours in a cafe day-dreaming. The dream I had back then was to one day start a salon where wonderful people gather in. Fifteen years have past, with many encounters with good people and now my dream has come true. Now many people come to my restaurant, bringing their stories to each table each day. For them I make the place, I light the overhead lamp, wash dishes, prepare food and select wine. and then I thought it would be an idea to have the own music for the restaurant. Now that I release this CD, I hope that this will bring many new encounters to me.”

約2年ぶりとなるTOWA TEIのソロ6枚目のアルバム「SUNNY」は、前2作「FLASH」、「BIG FUN」に続くトリロジー（3部作）の完結編であり、「ハレの日にしか創らない」をテーマに制作された自身初のコンセプトALBUM。
ジャケットも前2作同様、バリー・マッギーが描き下ろしている。
収録曲には、ヴォーカルに高橋幸宏とモデルの水原希子を迎えた先行シングル曲"The Burning Plain"を始め、2010年モバゲーCMソングとして話題を呼んだ"Marvelous"、ハトリミホがボーカルをとる"Teenage Mutant"、Taprikk Sweezeeによる"Get Myself Together"と"Alpha"など、まさにタイトル通り、SUNNYなアルバムに仕上がりました。

大地震、大津波、そして原子力発電所の事故、この未曾有の災害により被災された皆様に、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。
1995年阪神・淡路大震災の時、当時高校生だった僕は、実家の兵庫県西宮市にいて被災者となりました。電気は3日間、ガスは1ヶ月来ませんでした。学校は遺体の安置所となり、1ヶ月以上開校出来ませんでした。そうした体験から、この大地震が起こった後、ミュージシャンとして、そして音楽配信サイトOTOTOYで働く者として、今何が出来るかを考えました。ミュージシャンは、音楽を生むことが出来ます。音楽配信サイトは、それを出来るだけ早く販売し、お金に変えることが出来ます。そこで、OTOTOYで東日本大地震救済支援コンピレーション・アルバムを作ることに致しました。
アルバム・タイトルは、『Play for Japan』。「日本の未来のために演奏する」と言う意味を込めています。
まずOTOTOYと関わりのあるミュージシャンやレーベルの方をお誘いしました。当初は50曲ぐらいと予想しておりましたが、様々な皆さんにご協力いただいて、なんと112アーティスト、112曲もの楽曲が集まりました。また一般公募したジャケット・デザインにも多くの参加があり、その中から6人の方にお願いし、素敵なジャケットが出来上がりました。それを、OTOTOY編集部と多くのライター、3人のマスタリング・エンジニアが編集し、このアルバムが世に出ることになりました。この間、わずか5日。みなさんの熱い気持ちを感じていただければと思います。
こうして完成させることが出来た『Play for Japan vol.1-vol.6』。販売に当たっては、クレジット決済手数料約5%と、著作権管理事業者へ登録済の楽曲に関しては、著作権料約7.7%を除いた全ての売り上げを、東日本大地震の義援金として、日本赤十字社を通じて寄付致します。ミュージシャン、デザイナー、ライター、エンジニア、編集部... 皆が出来る事を精一杯行ってエネルギーとお金を生み、それらが少しでも被災した皆さんの助けになれば幸いです。
発売日は、2011年3月17日。我々の思いが、少しでも被災地に届きますように。みなさん、一緒に、粘り強く、再建と復興をめざして歩んでいきましょう。
